Stock Guru Competition 2002 Monthly Update - Supported by Access Brokerage

All those who choose Air New Zealand in their Stock Guru competition picks
continue to dominate the top of the Stock Guru leaders table for the month
of June. The national carrier has had a stellar run and is now up 106.45%
since the game began.

Combining Air NZ with ANZ, Carter Holt Harvey, CDL Investments and CDL
Hotels has earned "derek55" the top place for last month. CDL Hotels has
boosted derek55's performance considerably with the stock up 59.21% since
the start of the competition. Derek55's overall portfolio is up 33.97% - in
a year where most equity markets are down so far, this performance is more
than commendable - it's worthy of guru status!

Following in second place for the month of June is "shiloh" with Pacific
Retail Group and the Warehouse helping round out his Air NZ pick.
Interestingly enough, two stocks shiloh choose are down in performance -
Fletcher Building and Waste Management. Goes to show that a diversified
portfolio can still be a winner even with losers included.

"Bud Fox" - May's leader, has slipped to 4th place but, with a 29.88 per
cent portfolio performance he's still doing pretty well.

Out of the nine sharebrokers, only three are in the black with CS First
Boston (now called First NZ Securities) once again leading the pack with a
14.69% rise. Direct Broking is languishing thanks to a contrarian RMG pick
which is down 70% on the year.
