Snoopy,
       Your argument is meticulous, and I can find no real flaws in it.
The problem is that the theoretically sound, but complicated charting approach 
you have outlined is simply not a practical proposition - for me anyway. In 
comparison, what I have presented is indeed an oversimplification of what is a 
complex situation. I would argue that this is true of any chart, but that they 
nevertheless provide all the information you need in order to make rational, 
logical and profitable trading decisions. I guess we differ there!
