Nothing new in this, the US market has been
overvalued for years, and will continue to be so compared to many other
markets.
My view is that a good shakeout of paper
mache companies like the Enrons and Worldcoms of this world, whilst
damaging to short term confidence , must surely result in a leaner,
stronger market when the smoke clears.
Certainly the US SEC will be a much more cognisant
body , and this should in fact give investors more confidence down the
track.
If the masses panic and sell their stocks, guess
what, there will be masses of other people sweating on buying
them, to sell back to the panicky people in 3, 6, 12, or 24 months time at a
nice profit.
