Robin Widdup, the former top-rated gold analyst who heads the specialist resource investment house Lion Selection, remarked this week that it "it doesn't seem to bother anyone here that virtually the whole Australian sector is being taken overseas."We should have been bothered. There is a whole industry there now which is controlled by overseas interests." He also noted that the merger and acquisition activity was far from over and it was possible to see foreign ownership in the sector climbing to 90 per cent.
