Dear Investors We've had a great response to ShareChat's inaugural Stock Guru 2002 competition with around 400 people joining in. Thanks to all those who entered - and thanks to Access Brokerage for their sponsorship. The competition closed on Friday, January 25th at 5.00pm and has now been updated with the first day's closing prices. To see what the portfolios look like, please click here: http://www.sharechat.co.nz/community/stockguru/table.php The top five stock picks over all the entries were (in order): Fletcher Forests, Telecom, The Warehouse, GPG and Fletcher Building. Running fairly close behind were Sky City and Waste Management. Just to refresh your memories, the top five performing stocks on the market last year were (in order): Apple Fields, Software of Excellence, PDL, Wrightson and Steel & Tube. There's obviously plenty who believe that Fletcher Forests will finally move out of the sub-25 cents zone and that Telecom will benefit from a more positive view of the telco sector. Many of you are also punting that Sir Ron will see you right in 2002. Good luck to all of you who entered and thanks again for taking part.
