Easy...overnight
events/news/baddreams/brainwaves can result in more or fewer
buyers/sellers at opening = different price.
"When a company (i.e. The Wharehouse), floats new shares as it did yesterday, does this not decrease my %age ownership of the company unless I buy a portion of the new shares?" Your % ownership decreases.
