How can a share close at a certain price and then open at another? (Yes I
got stung by this a little with Air NZ Shares)

When a company (i.e. The Wharehouse), floats new shares as it did yesterday,
does this not decrease my %age ownership of the company unless I buy a
portion of the new shares?
