I have followed the comments with great
interest and although I have concern re political involvement what I found of really
surprising was the apparent inability of both the NZ and Aust Govts to work
together to minimise the flow on impacts. Hindsight not withstanding the consequences
of putting Ansett down were evident some time back both in terms of jobs and real
cost to both countries over and above any initial bailout, it was a great
opportunity for the both Govts to be proactive and to be seen to show some real
leadership in very difficult times. There are no excuses for any of the
Directors involved nor comfort for staff or shareholders from the current talk
feast and PR weasel talk that is going on from both sides of the ditch. It’s
the same as waiting for the John Note: The information contained in this
