Nick,
Re your question: Will SKC test $
11.50?
Yes, it was $ 11.55 today. Will move to $12,
given a short period and it would help if a share split were
announced.
There is an excellent 9.0 % gross dividend yield on
the June 30, 2002 result and there is some takeover talk as
well!
1.The FOR adventure is not a total write-off!
SKC could benefit by showing films in their own theatre
and by the supply of staff and food to some of FOR's outlets at a
fee.
Therefore, although FOR may perhaps show some
losses, SKC could do reasonable well.
However, there is an opportunity cost to pay and
FOR will make additional demands on management.
Rest assured that SKC will be concerned if any
of the FOR's facilities would have a loss for some time. It is not one
of SKC's better investments!
2. The proposed new conference centre with gaming
facilities to be built on their unused land, together with the development of
the Hamilton casino will also make demands on capital.
I suggest that the prospective benefit of
these two facilities has as yet
not been factored into the
SKC share price.
