[sharechat] Frucor sales in decline........
The words with all the large percentage increases and penetration rates in
Frucor's announcement don't seem to reconcile with the sales numbers.
>From past announcements and doing a few sums it looks like that they haven't
sold much more V in Jan-Jun 2001 than they did in Jan-Jun 2000.
Frucor's 'New Age' beverage sales H2 2001 were $47.0M compared to $46.3M in
H2 2000. Compared to a 123% growth in the first half year can we conclude
that sales of these products have stagnated?
Overall total Frucor sales in H1 2001 were 54% up on H1 2000 (from $78.1M to
$120.7M) but H2 2001 sales are only 5% up on H2 2000 (from $102.1M to
$107.7M).
The impression you get from the announcement is that a solid foundation for
growth had been laid and they were now starting to cash in with strong sales
growth.
The sales growth in the six months to June hardly suggest that this is
happening.
If they continue to 'invest in the future' with even more marketing costs I
hope that sales growth is slightly more robust than the last six months.
