You could also ask where is the logic in making stout in Ireland, cars in 
Japan or mobile phones in Finland?  And none of these companies had any 
marketing clout or smart logistics when they started out, but still managed 
to gain significant chuncks of International markets.  I agree Frucor is a 
small niche player but they are giving it a decent go and remaing profitable 
at the same time.  I certainly don't see any comparative disadvantages to NZ 
producing soft drinks, though they may not enjoy the comparative advantages 
that the Dairy Board had while pushing the Anchor brand to its current 
status in England.
