It's not exactly a
market segment where competition is a problem. It is also not a segment
where being first makes you the market winner. Demand is fairly constant
and the consumers (surgeons, patients and regulators) are *very* picky about the
quality of the product.
Make an assessment on
the merit of the company - do they have a good product ? Do they have a
high level of expertise in all the required business areas. Are they doing
this as a project of merit or just to ramp the price enough for the early
investors to bail out?
