Hi silverfox, > > I'm looking to add a bit of diversity to my portfolio by purchasing > some government bonds or similar. Is anyone aware of sites/chatrooms > where these securities are discussed? > Bonds is a subject that is more complex than it might first appear. You do have to get your timing right and if investing through a managed fund then last years performace is no indicator of what might happen in the future. In fact, if a bond fund has done well over the past year there is a very good chance it will do badly over the next year and vica versa. For a general introduction as to why, you might familiarise yourself with the 'bond' section of the aus.invest FAQ. www.freecfm.com/a/ausinvest/FAQ.htm Authored by somebody who you might have heard of ;-) SNOOPY --------------------------------- Message sent by Snoopy e-mail tennyson@caverock.net.nz on Pegasus Mail version 2.55 ---------------------------------- "Q: If you call a dog tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?"
