As a telecom shareholder, I am rapt that they could raise $500 million with only a slight dilutory effect. Beats the heck out of a rights issue or debt.

And their timing was excellent - boost the share price with the swag of positive announcements, cooincide with TEL being given a boost a few weeks back by being added to some Aussie index or other, and then tour around the institutions.

Credit where credit is due eh?
