When a commodity processor reports an increase in tangible assets it likely to be an increase in stock on hand.

Supposition 1.

    AFFCO's freezers are bulging with unsold stock

Supposition 2.

    It will mainly be grinding beef destined for the U S market.

There is currently a procurement war for livestock with North Island processors transporting beef livestock from the South Island. Why they would be competing to secure as much product as possible to sell into a soft market beats me. But then, since when has the meat industry ever acknowledged economic reality.
