Allied Domecq as an NRT in the market at NZ$4.16 to NZ$4.64, so if UBS 
Warburg can't get all 10% for NZ$4.55, then if Allied really wants the 10% 
stake which it seems that it does then it will have to up the ante, but they 
don't want to get everyone excited early on or they will exhaust the small 
bit of negiotating room they have from NZ$4.55 to NZ$4.64.


You will notice that UBS Warburg did not initally set up a stand in the 
market they were buying on market normally, but as the offer went to NZ$4.56 
and bid to NZ$4.60, then they had to rethink and set up a stand, if you plug 
in MONW into stockwatch you will see their separate stand situation, as of a 
couple of minutes ago they had only got 650,000 shares, but on MOn the offer 
to buy was $4.56 so obviouslt those peoples culdn't soak up 650K, but you 
would be silly to sell for NZ$4.55 in the UBS stand if the normasl sales 
were at NZ$4.56.

Just my take on the situation
