GPG interest in TIP
By 22 Sept GPG had acquired 6.45% at prices below
110p and at 29 Sept had 11.90%, presumably at about 110p. On 1 March 2001 this
had increased to 17.86% and their tender offer suggests 18.10% at 28 March.
Another player, Lupus Capital is stake building and is close to 5%. Lupus is a
strange animal and has often been thought of as apump and dump operation because
of it wild price fluctuations. It had nil cash on hand as at its year end
31Dec 00 but may have liquidated other
investments to get this far. However it may be in cahoots with the management
for their buyot purposes. Either way GPG will have the bigger pockets, if it
wants to go further.
