[sharechat] AiRVA & AIRVB
It appears the "Herd" has got back onto these stocks. The last 3 days seeing
them increase roughly 15%
off their lows. This seems to be based primarily on;
1) The probable lifting of Ansett's groundings.
2) Possible assistance from SIA.
Its regards to 2 that I'd like to comment on. When was the last time SIA
mentioned a further interest in Air NZ?
Lets look at their last 12 months. 1) Silkair (SIA owned) crash with
accusations of pilot suicide. 2) SIA crash
in Taipei. Alleged pilot error with SIA accepting full responsibility. 3)
Like all other airlines, the price of aviation fuel.
I'm not saying their un-financial but these 3 reasons would make me think
they could be concentrating on their own
patch and getting that back into order rather than throwing more cash (which
they might not have given the above)
at Air NZ which would lead them more into Ansett and Australia.
I'd be surprised if they showed any further interest in the short term.
Regards Mick
