NUFARMS REPORT SEEMS PRETTY GOOD,  WHAT DO YOU THINK.

HLFYR: NUF: HY 6 MONTHS TO 31/01/2000 PROFIT A$12.6M
Nufarm has generated an unaudited tax paid profit of $12.6m for the half
year
period ending 31/01/2001.  This result is in line with internal
forecasts and
represents an 18.4% increase on the $10.7m net profit reported for the
interim (8 months) period last year.  Management remains confident that
the
full year profit will represent positive growth on lat year's result.
The
company changed its balance date last year to 31/07 and the first period

therefore reflected 8 months of trading.  In the directly comparable six

month period ending 31/01/2000, the company earned $14m. Earnings per
shares
for the half year period were 8.2c (7.7c for 2000 interim period).
Directors
also announced a fully franked interim dividend of A7c - up from A6c
(NZ8c)
unfranked - which will be paid on 27/04/2001 to all holders of ordinary
shares in the company as of 12/04/2001.  The company advise it will
continue
to build on its core capabilities in chemical manufacturing and
synthesis,
with an objective to expand strong global production and marketing
operations
in both crop protection and fine and performance chemicals.
