Not even a prize for 1st!   As an old athlete told me, all he got when he won 
races was "a cup of tea and a handshake".  If you win shake your own hand and 
make yourself a congratulatory cuppa.

If you come last, spice the tea with loads of whisky and drown your sorrows.
