It would seem that small shareholders can indeed influence a company.
Witness this about turn by Contact Energy today with regards to the proposed
Director's fees increase.

Thus the movement started by David Zwartz has been successful.  Small
shareholders should take heart around the country - and Contact Energy
should be congratulated for listening to their "owners" concerns.
