The following was promulgated today on the ASX - an expanded version of the
pidley NZSE announcement.

Alexander Brown, who led ESPN and ESPN STAR Sports' efforts in Asia,
has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of Virtual
Spectator, a New Zealand-based company that uses proprietary software
and three dimensional (3D) animation to create personal viewing
experiences for television and Internet sports coverage.
Brown will manage the worldwide day-to-day business operations of
Virtual Spectator as well as develop strategic initiatives for the
company. He will be based at Virtual Spectator's new offices in New
York, which are to become the company's global headquarters. Product
research, development and production will continue to be based in New
Zealand.
Said Lindsay Fergusson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Virtual Spectator, "Sandy is a proven leader in the sports media
industry and is the ideal executive to manage our business as well as
lead Virtual Spectator's expansion into new markets across the
globe."
Brown was recruited to his new post by Cathy Griffin, a well known
sports figure who heads the Global Sports Practice at Korn/Ferry
International (NYSE:KFY), the leading executive search firm.
"Virtual Spectator has created a leading technology that has a
rapidly growing following within the broadcast community, but also
possesses enormous potential for the Internet," noted Brown. "I am
excited about the opportunity to expand Virtual Spectator's presence
in the sports category and also look forward to exploring other
mediums where Virtual Spectator's technology can enrich the
entertainment experience."
Brown recently was named one of the ten "power brokers" in Asian
sports by SPORT BUSINESS. Under Brown's leadership, ESPN's
subscribers in Asia grew from zero to 53 million and STAR Sports
subscribers grew from zero to 52 million. Brown's achievements also
included customizing the ESPN and STAR Sports networks into six
regionally targeted services in five languages serving over 25
countries. ESPN is a division of the Walt Disney Company, and ESPN
STAR Sports is a joint venture of ESPN and STAR TV, a division of
News Corporation.
Virtual Spectator's technology was developed eight years ago to
enhance live television coverage of the America's Cup and was used in1992,
199
5 and 2000. In a world first, Virtual Spectator expanded its
technology to provide live interactive 3D animation coverage of
America's Cup 2000 on the Internet. The company is now applying its
technology to golf, motor sports, soccer, rugby, cricket and music.
Virtual Spectator's software uses 3D animation technology to
graphically enhance television sports coverage and create interactive
live and real time Internet coverage. The company's revenues are
derived from fees from television networks and subscriptions from
Internet viewers. Virtual Spectator's founders include Fergusson, an
international businessman; Ian Taylor, a pioneer in 3D animation; and
Craig Meek, a pioneer in the interactive multimedia Industry. Snider
Capital of Philadelphia and IT Capital, Australasia's leading Venture
Catalyst(TM), are also shareholders in Virtual Spectator. Neal
Pilson, former president of CBS Sports, is a consultant to the
Company.
