re: [sharechat] fisher and paykel
I find it quite amazing. This whole thing seems to be driven by analysts
chanting the mantra of "improving shareholder value" IMO the only
beneficiaries of this will be the investment bankers lawyers and
consultants; I would be very interested to know how much has been budgeted
for reorganisation costs. It will also divert a huge amount of management
time which would be better spent in improving the performance of the company
and presumably its share price.
I can't for the life of me see why the sum of the two parts should be
greater than the current whole.
Fletchers had the same reasoning when they created the letter stock
structure but at least F&P are going the whole hog and forming two totally
separate entities.
I suppose at least the directors will get two sets of fees in future so some
good will come out of it
Cheers
