I make some of my living playing and teaching classical guitar.   Years ago my old teacher used to say "Don't be afraid to make mistakes - only by making mistakes do we learn".  He told me once about how when he was a youngster he had gone out one night with his teacher and a famous musician who was in town, I forget who, and they had been to see a jazz band who were up on stage and this band was just awful.  When the famous musician was asked what he thought of the band he replied, "Well there's a whole lotta learnin' going on up there!"   cheers michael
