I had a guy called Mark phone me from Bangkok yesterday
and bend my ear for 15 minutes or so.
Tried to sell me a NASDAQ-listed stock BTUS who
apparently have developed some Human Resources software.
Told me the price had been as low as $2, but now was
$5.50 having risen 5% that day.
He insisted that I should grab this opportunity as he
predicted the stock would rise 300% in the next few days due to a large deal
about to be signed with Coca Cola.
Anyway, I got rid of him in the end and out of idle
curiosity checked the price of BTUS this morning...
Overnight it had fallen 41% to just $3.25!
Where do these guys get my phone number from, it beats
me!
One thing's for sure -- NEVER EVER deal with these
offshore pump-and-dump merchants.
A few months ago I had a similar experience with a guy
from Hong Kong trying to sell me a stock he said was about to list on the
NASDAQ. Of course it never listed.
I have read so many horror stories about investors who
sent money to these sorts of crooks, then never received their share
certificates, or maybe received them MUCH later, once the stock had
tanked.
Why are people so gullible you have to ask
yourself?
