i think most posters genuinely are excited about the prospects of shares
they are posting about. When one gets the feeling things are looking good
for a particular stock or timing is right, of course you are biased to it,
and remember that you have just bought from a seller who thinks the opposite
for whatever reason. I agree with Rebecca and Steve on this, and if you dont
like what you hear, thats fine. Most of us are mature enough to realise that
most on this site would hardly have the capital to move stocks like FFS,
although the small parcel shares are more easily influenced. Anyone jumping
on has only themselves to blame for reading the forum in the first place if
that is their belief, so in this respect only the gullible or inexperienced
may be at risk.(there are usually all sorts of alterative views to help
balance this)
My gut feeling is those who are anti have been burnt and are now slightly
touchy.
I enjoy the discussion or "exuberant views" and use the forum to gather info
from like minded investors. I have changed my mind on several stocks on
hearing the opinions and points of contributors.
Its all about aggregating ALL views.
