The question of whether there has ever been an orchestrated of ramping using this forum is an interesting one. Having been a keen reader and contributor to this excellent forum for a long time i feel that none of the regulars have ever been guilty of any serious ramping. By serious i mean collaborating with (or creating other identities) others in an attempt to push up the price of a stock by a concerted effort in hyping. There have been a few times in the last year or two however when i have been very suspicious about ramping on this forum. Every time it has involved one of the lesser stocks (aql , rmg itc etc) and has been characterized by a sudden flooding of the group with messages hyping the stock up, usually by contributors who don't usually post. The next day (or few days) money floods in to the stock, but nearly always a large amount flows out (the smart money). The usual result is that those who have been swept along by the hype usually suffer, while those perpetrating it exit with their ill gotten gains. It is very easy to be swept along by hype but time and again we have seen that hype is usually all there is. Next time this forum is subjected to one of these concerted hype campaigns , be well advised that unless the company is very sound then chances are you have been the unwitting victim of a ramp.
