For the sake of the nation I hope you are right. Poor curve flattening I
mean.
But I give a lot of credit to the WHS's evolving product mix. Their
shelves look nothing like they did 10 years ago. Slowly they are
introducing big ticket items with strong margins and exclusive
distribution rights. For example AEG appliances from Germany. OK it's
not Miele or Gagganau but still a big step up from the inefficient F&P
washers that win market share by default. My guess is WHS will add and
delete product to meet the part of the market that provides the best
bottom line profit.
Hey I despise those store layouts and colour schemes but must admit to
visiting the Big Red more in the last year than in the previous 12 years
combined.
The current target market is as you say 'poor'(but 100% spenders).
Fendalton and Epsom residents may have their very own sooner than we
think. Sausage sizzles and meat raffles outside will be a big winner.
