Sunday's little exercise at picking one share for three years growth was interesting for the outcome - that garbage collectors WAM, debt collectors RMG and BCH and discounters WHS seemed to be the most popular choice. As chatters may have noticed I keep on expounding WHS - based on the assurred growth that will come through because as Mike put it the other morning - the country is in the "crap". Maybe CEN is not a good buy either if a lot of common peopele revert to candles. Sunday's exercise seem to confirm that a lot of us intelligent people out there are thinking alike. However do not despair - us capitalists (even though some of us are socialists at heart) should be rewarded well if we stick to our guns. Even though the above need a poor economy to thrive don't forget that they need technology to do the amount of business that is piling up for them in the future. Technology companies will still be winners - eg Terrabyte ( a ITC investment) has recently won some WHS work etc. And no matter waht the state of the economy I'm sure that internet use will continue to grow - both for business and entertainment. And Mike - even the poor will need to go to a PlaceMakers store to get things to fix up the home (the Warehouse doesn't stock timber and wallboard - yet) And don't forget our rural brothers who are having a really good time at the townies expense - WRI etc Don't lose hope if interest rates do go up tomorrow - there are still plenty of opportunities (even on the NZSE) to make money - and give the odd penny to the poor sometime.
