Re: [sharechat] 4i Index
Robert
It was not easy coming up with the constituent list for 4i especially given
many of our "IT companies" have a history in the mining sector (and still
retain interests) or have been back door listings
The decision to include or exclude companies is not a "hard science". As
managers of the index it was up to us to make a judgement call on some
stocks.
The rule "Companies considered for inclusion in 4i must derive (or expect to
derive) the majority of their revenue from Internet or Information
Technology related business activity. " we believe covers Baycorps
inclusion.
As for IndraNet....
We too were surprised at its reported market capitalisation however we can
only go on the information supplied. Russell Fitts (Indranets MD) informed
4i that they have 37,701,254 shares on issue. (this was supported by BK
registries)
On today's closing price of $4.07 this gives them a market cap of 153mil and
a 10.1% weighting in 4i

As for the 4i index itself. We have had an amazing response to the service
from both private investors and the listed companies.
The index is off about 5 points today (closing at 957) after the a very good
run over the last 6 days (put on over 60 points).
I don't think it will be long until we see the index crack through the 1000
mark and be back above its base value (Jan 1, 2000)
