[sharechat] Market depth petion
Hi John, Tony and Warner,
I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying and I think market depth
should be made available to anyone that wants to view it. I understand supply
and demand
and that is exactly what I think this situation is - the investing public are
demanding market
depth and the Exchange should be supplying it.
What I was trying to get across is that getting market depth information is
fanastic but it is
also the way you interpret the information.
Market depth won't allow you to see the brokers who are bidding and
offering the shares which can give an even better feel for exactly what the
market
might do. What it will allow is for anyone with an internet connection to get
a 'feel' for the market that is lacking at the moment. As someone that has
spent
years watching a trading screen I know all the components of a quote from the
price, quantity
and broker etc and to be now, on the other side of the world, and be limited to
only
being able to view quotes it is like reading braille for me.
I certainly wasn't attempting a contrary view because I helped write the
petition
in the first place. I just hope that if enough people say the right things to
people
in the right places we can actually get a positive result.
In England and currently at work - also without market depth,
Sarah
