BRY made the following announcement this morning.

It's been over a year since the much hyped "Asia Recovery" fund was first
announced. It will be interesting to see the results of this
restrucuring...

GEN: BRY: PROPOSED JOINT VENTURE WITH ASIA RECOVERY FUND & ROTHSCHILD

Brierley Investments announced the restructuring of the proposed joint
venture with the Asia Recovery fund, originally sponsored by Rothschild,
Inc.
The restructuring was promoted by the departure of Rothschild Executive MD
and Asia Recovery Fund Chairman, Mr Wilbur Ross, who recently left
Rothschild
to establish a boutique investment bank, W L Ross & Co. LLC. An intention
to
form the joint venture was first announced in 04/99, with the aim of pooling
the capital and intellectual resources of both BIL and Rothschild to invest
in businesses in the recovering SE Asian economies. Since that time,
initial
investments have been made in undervalued Asian hydrocarbon assets. BIL and
WL Ross & Co. LLC are currently negotiating a new joint venture, to be
capitalised at up to US$100m.
