RE: [sharechat] Liberty One to be an Advanatge

Hi Adam,
A broker friend told me late last week there was a rumour that Advantage
were looking at a "major deal" in Aussie. He knew nothing else. I passed on
your rumour to him. his response was "thanks, thats very useful". He still
however knows no more. I'l keep the group posted with any updates. I do not
follow the Aussie market that closely apart from one or two dually listed
stocks so don't know a lot about Liberty apart from the fact that their
share price seems [at 35 odd cents] to be at an all time low, down from a
high of $2.50 not so long ago. They seem to have had a fairly tough time
recently with key people leaving. Generally Liberty appears to be of a
similar ilk to ITC, similar business focus, intent on establishing its
foundations and networks, looking down the track to profitability rather
than making any money yet [loss last year $25 million]. The cynics amongst
us would possibly say long on rhetoric, short on results. I guess only time
will tell.
But back to the rumour. If it is true, does it mean either Advantage or
Liberty shares will rise or fall or ----- ??
Liberty seems a much larger company than Advantage. Does that mean that
Advantage might need money [borrowed or by way of issuing more shares] to
fund the acquisition? What would that do to the share price? What are the
relative market caps of each company? If the rumour seems to have substance
then I guess there are lots of other questions one might ask in deciding on
a strategy for taking a punt on one or the other or both? Any other views on
this one?

Its only a rumor.. But it does add up

Liberty One (ASX:LIB) (owners of the Excite web portal and Zivo web design)
about to be taken over by Advantage Group.

Zivo are major players in the aussie web design space. Advantage see Aussie
as their next step. Zivo would be a serious competitor.. So why no buy them
out
