At the time of the announcement there is a trading halt to allow brokers to
assess the offer of 15min.They can then adjust positions. It is at the time
they go EX that is important. If the ex is on a Friday for example,There will
be nothing in the system on Monday morning,ie all positions are wiped on
Friday..it is up to your broker to replace your old position. This position
in the queue may be better or worse than your previous position depending on
how quick your broker puts your position back in on the Monday morning. There
is no guarantee that you will be first in at your chosen price once the
stock goes ex,even if you had that position before.
Hope thats not too jiberish
Warner
