Remember Malcolm overseas companys can offer what they want to, but who ever said that FFS was on the market at a bargain basement price. If you put your house up for sale and suddenly the real estae market collapses you don't have to sell do you? I think any overseas buyer will be well aware that forestry is a cyclical industry and a correction in world sharemarkets (which were/are over valued anyway) is only part of the equation when it comes to valuing a company in this industry.
