No I haven't heard of them setting up shop in NZ,
Their NZ site operates from Australia.  It seems to have got slower since
the update.

Whilst I am talking about Etrade, 
There has been been previous discussion about the feasibility of
transfering jointly listed shares (e.g. NUF CGH LKO) to a Chess registered
broker.  In theory this should take three days.
In practice, it has been more like two months so far.  I have been trying
since February.  So much for arbitrage.
