Sarah,
I am glad to see a reasoned response to the question of short term/day
traders. It is refreshing not to have to wear the pariah image put about by
many who are stuck with the mantra that investing in the market is a long
term proposition.

In previous dealings with some brokers I have encountered many buy orders
with an incredulous "why are you buying that, its going down" followed
within a few days by a sell order and "you were lucky there!"

Thank goodness that Brokers keep hiring younger operators with a more open
view of the world. Not withstanding that I have the same client adviser now
that I had 15 years ago! Yes Elizabeth I deal with more than one broker!

Finally I have to agree that being a short trader that it requires a lot of
time to keep an eye out for buy/sell opportunities.
