Frank,
I think you are right about SIA being the logical
buyer into Air NZ because if Qantas were to buy into
Air NZ, the 50% of Ansett Australia that Air NZ bought
recently would have to be unravelled to prevent a
monopoly situation from occuring. In such a situation,
SIA would then become the logical purchaser of Ansett
Australia, a prize they have obviously long wanted.
The whole saga is quite interesting isn't it? The
outcome can only be beneficial not only for the AIRVB
shares but also the AIRVA shares, I imagine.
