I have just opened an e-trade ac in Aussie. Took at least a month since the
initial application. I was not impressed.

I understand that ASB Securities have an Aussie trading facility and as
they are based here would imagine that would be a quicker way to go. Also
the money transfer side of it would probably be more streamlined. Just a
thought.
