RE: [sharechat] It's gone very quiet, is everyone licking their wounds????????
Trouble is - these prices are all good buying opportunities but one only has
so much capital and when one uses up all that capital one can only watch or
take a lost in one to possibly make a gain (or more loss)in another. And
when you think prices have bottomed out e.g CAH / AIA etc etc they fall even
further. I mean AIA will eventually be a 'winner' and good to buy at its
$2.50 level as everyone went through last week but now its even cheaper
again. I suppose its all about weighting your portfolios correctly, topping
up on any falls thus averaging down and obeying the old addage of time in
the market rather than timing the market. Good stocks won't go away. However
all tech stocks listed on the NZSE have all made a gain at various times
during last 6 months so I feel you need to time your 'in' correctly with
these or either sit out long time (AQL) or get in and out quickly maybe
sacrificing a bit of extra percentage gain to at least make something rather
than watch the price turnaround and fall as it is no longer flavour of the
week (or day) for that matter. I bet there are alot of people in sharechat
tonight sitting on about a 10% paper lost with SVY after today. I would also
say alot of traders were in on Monday and out today taking a 10% plus gain.
But isn't it all fun.
