Yes, the rumour did say it was going to happen this Friday - but, no announcement - so is the rumour false, or has there just been a delay? At the IT Investment Forum in Auckland on Monday, ITC were talking of their expansion plans into Australia and South East Asia. If they do aim to become a leading venture capital company in South East Asia they will have to have a lot more money to make major investments. So the question is, where will they get this money? NZ Investors? Share placements with institutions? Or their US investors? I certainly think that the latter is plausible -- I was talking to someone who reminded me that, at its current share price, ITC is classed as a penny dreadful in the US. But the US Investors want to see a coy that has a high share price, and delivers the goods. So, maybe there will be an announcement shortly, but then again, maybe it was all just rumours and nothing will happen. Interesting times nevertheless.
