Re: [sharechat] Savoy profit-taking tomorrow?
I see Savoy says the acquisition is not large enough to mean calling an
EGM.
I forget off-hand what the % ceiling is? At any rate it means that
logically the SVY price
would still be driven by its largest business.
I wouldn't have thought Safety Net was big enough to be a threat to
competitors
in the Asia Pacific region but it would be interesting to get further info
on this.
It was a relatively minor fall by the Nasdaq in % terms so I doubt it
would cause a major correction in NZ techs.
Failing a major correction on the NasDaq I think having to front up with
hard data from
time to time is going to cause a major individual correction in some of the
NZ techs.
The trick is to assemble what we know to try and pick the winners but above
all to
not assume that every NZ tech is going to be a major long term winner which
will eat
up all its overseas competition automatically. When I see this assumption
no longer
being made I'll start to feel a bit happier about avoiding another 1987.
Apart from Chrome Global which is Australian anyway what NZ techs have
suffered a correction?
If the answer is zilch doesn't it mean something is terribly wrong
somewhere?
cheers,
Hugh
