I wonder what you guys think the reasons behind
using private placements as the method of choice for fund-raising are, given
that rights issues have often been used in such cases where capital is
needed. I wonder if this means that a sizeable acquisition has already
been identified.
Could another possible reason be that the new
direction is not quite as racy as we hope, ie not IT, but something more boring,
meaning that a rights issue wouldnt be as well received by shareholders?
Kind of hope I'm wrong about that, (esp. given my current exposure to AQL and
AQLOA :-), but given the names associated with the company, any new venture will
no doubt be spectacular. Looking forward to Feb 28.
