PM Subject: to Michael re: why Davnet volumes Comments:
I read this post in another forum re the davnet volumes prior to
ann. Read and ponder:-
The market, the medium by which the clever
encourage the herd mentality..
And the sheep do follow, without a
hesitation of a doubt.
An interesting situation has arisen of late
whereby there was talk building yesterday of a forthcoming
announcement to be made by a particular company..
That company was
DAVNET..dvt.
So as is to be expected by the experienced, they
flocked, pushing the price up rapidly, going against the trend.
But the announcement didnt occur when expected and many began to
question the validness of the rumour, given the frequency of these so
called`` hot rumours``.
Then the vibe persisted, renewing interest
with even greater vigour.
Then, it happened,...the word quickly
spread..DVT is in preopen...its on.....
They flock......bids
quickly stack up to 2.15, up almost 10% on the current last price
traded.
There were 700,000 to 800,000 bidders stacked which
avereaged out and reopened at 2.15.
Great were on.....they
thought........but what was the bloody announcement guys??????
Hey
yeah....I``ll check.......holy s**t, its only a little deal with HTA that
will save costs,...not the so called big American one.
Hell...what are we gonna do now.....I dont know but you better
think quick...the price has just dropped from 2.15 to 2.00 in a
minute....
Damn...they all know its a crock ann. Dont worry,
its under control....
5 minutes later the news of the announcement
spreads to the public......quick guys dvt just made an
announcement...get on...
Its 2.15..lets place an order....2.15????
No it was 2.15 before the big boys found out what it was...Its quietly
2.00 already..
The slow and uninformed place orders pushing the
price back up.
the big boys realise they may be able to get their
money back......i know.....we``ll place a U bid...
all of a sudden
3 U bids are stacked hoping to have the unsuspecting jump in front.
suddenly it all becomes to obvious and 2 U bids disappear, and 1
remains..
Sitting at 2.12 he is about to be tested and what
happens......He suddenly disappears as his price is activated....S**t,
there on to us.
Then a U sell appears, sitting at 2.16...then
2.14, as all these guys purchased at 2.15...stuff it we wont lose to
much, and we may just be lucky enough to offload them on this new
interest..
All of a sudden you have 1.8 million shares stacked
between 2.10 and 2.20 as they quickly queue up to get out.
And you
have lots of small buyers queueing up to buy into their sell orders not
knowing what theyre getting themselves into..
Whats happening?
Well, the bigboys all lined up when suspended expecting a big
announcement..it didnt eventuate...just a small one.
On that news
they quickly bail out pushing the price lower 15 cents.
Then the
laggards who are behind the action jump in thinking wow..its hot...when in
fact the bigboys are desperately lining up to get out.
so
these uninformed sheep, buy at the high price, as the biggens look to
quickly recoup money and exit unharmed.
The point
being.....all these damn rampers promoting a crock deal promoting it as
the deal, knowing it aint going no where and will probably fall below
2.00 in a few days.
The moral....avoid the herd mentality, do your
own research, dont buy at market and dont listen to the rampers here as
they are primarily looking to further line their pockets.

Manipulation
Also in the same vein - found on the Egoli Forum
yesterday.
This relates to the current rally of DVT as a result of an
announcement of arguably minor importance.
