Interesting reading on the NZHerald web site
regarding Ansett employees wanting to purchase 1/2 of Ansett and willing to pay
$500m to News Corp. What worries me is what one can read between the
lines, maybe I am wrong or paranoid ( or both :>> ) but
certain details come to light :-
1 / This buyout report has been
with the AirNZ board since end of Oct 1999 as reported and has just been
released to the media . Are Ansett employees dissatisatified with the
slow /no response from AirNZ/News Corp ? With the speed of Virgin/Singapore
Airlines I find AirNZ to be very lethargic
2/ AirNZ management are
becoming perceived by the public as slow and indecisive
3/ Brierley link to
AirNZ ( cannot help but feel there is a simliar slowness with both
companies at strategic levels - maybe a shortage of strategy
personal or is Selwyn Cushing influence too strong in both
companies . He is a cunning businessman but I feel he hasnt got the energy he
once had.
4/ Shareholders are so
badly informed they are exiting the stock . Management of both companies (AirNZ
/Bry ) have an ethical duty to keep shareholders informed . They are paid
increasingly amount of remmunation each year and are perceived to be doing
proportionally less amount of work for it.
5/ Maybe nothing is
being done (scary thought) ,been not dialogue between Singapore Airlines &
AirNZ so SAir have said
6/ There is an
ad on TV at the moment that advertise both AirNZ & Singapore Airlines
together ( what is going on here ????)
I am a pre-emptive buyer of shares ,I like
detective work and reading between the lines . I think any outcome with Ansett
will be +ve for AirNZ ,just wish it wasn't so much as a slow soap opera .
(spoilt with the speed of IT Stocks perhaps)
Disclosure : increased my holdings in
Airvb last week ,increase my holdings in Bly
2
weeks ago @ 40c I hold a tech stock ITC.+ various other
stocks
I will not hold my breath on Bly/Airvb as I will
expire ,I have bought them looking for profit in 6 months to 1 years
time.
