[sharechat] Re: ITC - Ben Dutton Comment
Phil,
I have commented on Bens reply in a previous posting.
Re netiquette, I was of the understanding that this newsgroup was to discuss
shares, this may come as a surprise with the current 'dot-com' bull market,
but shares do go down, and when they do (if history is anything to go by)
people remember things like valuation multiples, cash flow, retained
earnings, PE Rels, silly little things like that. Yes ITC has been a great
stock, yes it has exciting opportunities ahead of it, but so did Chase,
Equiticorp and the likes in the 80's. No I am not suggesting that ITC is
another Chase, but I also think it is sensible and wise to question
companies from time to time to see what the basis for the valuation is.
I for one do not believe that everything any company does 'turns to gold'
and that a suggestion that a company may be overvalued is as useful to a
news group as a posting that thinks they are cheap.
Bud
Disclosure: Do not own ITC and think they are overpriced.
