Re: [sharechat] Techs vs the Rest -Reply
I have to agree with Mark and Phil, well sort of... what I'm shy of as a
'value' investor (and I'm no professional, not even up to the 'minnow'
category!) is big talking high profiles tech co's wth no proven record, just
promises and projections. You're right though, if you're well informed
and stumble onto a tech co with *real* growth potential and reliable
earnings then it';s definitely worth a look - so long as the price isn't
already overinflated to begin with. Hopefully the managed fund already
mentioned is astute enough to pick value apart from hype - sounds like
they have done this very well. And with this new breed of company you
*really* have to keep your ear to the ground - what is today's winner is
old news tomorrow, so you really have to know the market for these
companies/products/concepts better than you know your own
mother-in-law. I agree that I have missed a lot of spectacular gains, and
all credit to those who have bagged them. At the end of the day though
I'm still content to get a good night's sleep by staying in the background
and letting my more 'traditional' investments quietly chug away. Just my
thoughts... :)
Cheers, H.
