[sharechat] Market depth - an explanation?

Hello everybody

I note the recent discussion about the desirability of access to market
depth information, presumably when viewing live share quotations.

Would anybody be prepared to explain briefly how one should assess market
depth info which, as someone remarked, is available from some Australian
online brokers.
